Citizens from 38 countries can use "30-Day Visa-Free Travel In China", including Andorra, Greece, Montenegro, Australia, Hungary, Netherlands, Austria, Iceland, New Zealan,d Belgium, Ireland, North, Macedonia, Brunei, Italy, Norway, Bulgaria, Japan, Poland, Croatia, Korea, Portugal, Cyprus, Latvia, Romania, Denmark, Liechtenstein, Slovakia, Estonia, Luxembourg, Slovenia, Finland, Malaysia, Spain, France, Malta, Switzerland, Germany, Monaco. Citizens from these countries are generally allowed to travel to China without a visa for up to 30 days for the purposes of tourism, travel, business, and visiting family or friends. They will still need to apply for a corresponding visa to China if they intend to work, study, or settle in China, or intend to stay for longer than 30 days.

Citizens from 54 countries can use "240-hour visa-free transit in China", including Albania, France, North, Macedonia, Argentina, Germany, Norway, Australia, Greece, Poland, Austria, Hungary, Portugal, Belarus, Iceland, Republic of Korea, Belgium, Ireland, Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy, Russia, Brazil, Japan, Serbia, Brunei Korea, Singapore, Bulgaria, Latvia, Slovakia, Canada, Lithuania, Slovenia, Chile, Luxembourg, Spain, Croatia, Malta, Sweden, Cyprus, Monaco, Switzerland, Czech, Republic Montenegro, Ukraine, Denmark, Mexico, United Arab Emirates, Estonia, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Finland, New Zealand, United States. The applicant must hold a valid international travel document (with a validity of at least three months) and meet the requirements for entering a third country (region). The applicant must hold interline passenger tickets or other documents with a specified date and seat to a third country (region) within 240 hours, complete the Arrival Card for Temporary Entry Foreigners, and cooperate with checks and inquiries by exit-entry border inspection authorities.

Citizens from other contries should apply Visa by preparing these materials, including but not limited to Passport, Visa Application Form and Photo, Proof of legal stay or residence status, Photocopy of previous Chinese passports or previous Chinese visas, F-Visa supporting document, Other supplementary materials.
